Here we are, almost 20 days later. ‘we won’t have access to internet frequently’, appeared to be party true, but the at the other parts of time we had access to internet but the places we visited, we visited only so shortly that there wasn’t any opportunity to update you. We’re sorry, but here we are again.
20 days later, our itinerary through Guangxi province later, three major destinations (Yangshuo, Hong Kong, Shanghai) later, countless busses later and two night trains later and ever so many stories and even more pictures later.

Well, just a short postscriptum post to keep you posted (ahaha). While we had a good plan worked out by Lilly and Jurrien to travel to southwest Yunnan (thanks again for that!!), we just decided during breakfast to change this to a different route advised by two friendly Israeli people we met yesterday evening. While the first plan would bring us to the much praised south-west tip of China and from there along a backdoor route into Guangxi province, we'll instead head straight off to the west for Guizhou province to take another many-small-villages route leading down to Yangshuo, Guangxi.

Pictures again! At last we can once again serve you stories with more than just words. It took several hours; walking through and selecting from 700 pictures (ahum), surviving several system crashes and finding a suitable socket for our picture harddisk - I am completely reconnected with the modern world again.
We couldn't reduce the 5 weeks of pictures to any less than a summary of 57 pictures, so it's another lengthy post (which we split in two to help you a bit). Then again, this should make up for the several weeks of picture-silence in the past and, no doubt, in the near future ;-) Enjoy!

10/04: Joyful Yunnan

In a hurry to continue to Yunnan we accorded with Emily, an extremely friendly english speaking girl we met on the bus in the city and who helped us buying a ticket for the nighttrain to Panzhihua, to take a hard seat ticket for a change, with the sleeper tickets being sold out and we wanting to leave. The hard seats are the cheapest way of traveling by train, followed by the hard sleepers (which we take, not so hard at all) and the soft sleepers. Every time again when we are going to board a train we are amazed by the number of people that are already there, one hour before departure, eagerly waiting for the train, sometimes already impatiently queuing up, while we sit down and watch the crowd and wonder why on earth they would have to be in such a hurry, having all pre-booked seats/beds. When the gate opens, people run as fast as they can (platforms are only opened for people per particular train, ten minutes before) thereby dragging their suitcases over each other?s toes, bumping large bags in each other?s face. Now we got to see the hard seats we finally knew: it?s all about storing your luggage.
